The American Museum of Natural History Reveals Epic Makeover

After a long absence, American Museum of Natural History has finally reopened one of its most beloved interactive, hands-on exhibits for families, much to the delight of New Yorkers. The return comes on the heels of other exciting revivals and additions at the museum, including the fan-favorite sleepovers, which are back after a five-year hiatus, and the unveiling of Impact a brand-new exhibition exploring the world’s most famous extinction event. The Porch on Windy Hill Extends at Urban Stages Through March 8th


Following a sold-out run and an overwhelming audience response, Urban Stages, led by Founding Artistic Director Frances Hill and Associate Artistic Director Antoinette Mullins, has announced a limited encore extension of The Porch on Windy Hill. Originally scheduled to close on February 22nd, the production will now continue through March 8th, due to popular demand and strong critical acclaim. Conceived and directed by Sherry Stregack Lutken, the play is set against the rolling landscape of the Blue Ridge Mountains and infused with timeless American folk music. Carnegie Hall Presents American Composers Orchestra on March 11th



The American Composers Orchestra (ACO) is one of today’s most prolific and passionately committed presenters of new American music. As part of Carnegie Hall’s United in Sound: America at 250Festival, ACO and soloists perform five incisive premieres by distinctive and distinguished composers Joseph C. Phillips Jr., Suzanne Kite, Shelley Washington, Jessie Montgomery, and Brittany J. Green. As described by the ensemble, these open letters to America “reflect narratives around the summer homes of turn-of-the-century Black folk, dreams, unspoken emotions, rituals of celebration, and the connection between the historic and current patriotism of Black American women.” Find more information and tickets HERE.

The Museum of Jewish Heritage Presents 3 Performances Highlighting Jewish Storytelling on 3/15, 3/19 and 3/25



The Museum of Jewish Heritage in Lower Manhattan will host a series in Edmond J. Safra Hall including Dedication, a solo performance on healing second-generation survivor wounds by Roger Peltzman on Sunday, March 15th; Tevye’s Daughters, a new opera inspired by Sholem Aleichem’s resilient female characters who were not included in Fiddler on the Roof, presented in concert on Thursday, March 19th; and staged readings of All in the Telling, a novel tracing Saul Rubinek’s accidental effort to tell his survivor parents’ Holocaust stories, on Wednesday, March 25th. Bronx Music Hall Screens Zombie Film from Tina Romero Followed by Women in Horror Panel on March 21st


Bronx Music Hall presents Bronx Rising!: Women in Horror, an evening celebrating Women’s History Month with a free panel on March 21st from 7 PM to 8 PM followed by a special film screening from 8 PM to 10 PM. The Women in Horror panel will explore the genre’s most iconic scream queens, final girls, and formidable forces, tracing the evolution of women in horror from early portrayals to modern reinventions both on screen and behind the camera, with panelists including writer and director Tina Romero, genre journalist Xero Gravity, writer, director, and actress Gigi Saúl Guerrero, and horror author Vincent Tirado. The evening continues with a $12 screening of Romero’s comedy-horror feature Queens of the Dead (1h 41m), followed by a Q&A, as drag queens and club kids battle brain-hungry zombies who crash their Brooklyn show, with a cast including Katy O’Brian, Jaquel Spivey, Margaret Cho, Riki Lindhome, Nina West, Cheyenne Jackson, Dominique Jackson, and Eve Lindley. The program is part of the STAY SCARED!™ multimedia exhibition honoring the life and legacy of George A. Romero, the Bronx-born filmmaker known worldwide as the “Father of the Zombies,” with an exhibition team that includes Dr. Steven Payne of Bronx County Historical Society, Edwin Pagán of LATIN HORROR, Elena Martínez of the Bronx Music Heritage Center, Suzanne Desrocher-Romero of the George A. Romero Foundation, Benjamin Rubin of University of Pittsburgh’s Horror Studies Center, and collaborators including IMAGE TEN, BronxDNA, The Bronx Halloween Parade, and M75 Illustration.

Vivaldi's Four Seasons at St. Joseph's Co-Cathedral on 3/26 and 3/28



Returning due to popular demand, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons comes to Brooklyn for two luminous nights only on Thursday, March 26 and Saturday, March 28 at 8 PM at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph (856 Pacific Street). The Fort Greene Orchestra, led by acclaimed violin soloist Giora Schmidt under the artistic direction of Daniel Zinn, brings Antonio Vivaldi’s beloved Le Quattro Stagioni (The Four Seasons) to life with a signature musical light design by Christopher Gilmore. The approximately 55-minute program, performed without intermission, journeys through Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter in a stunning immersive setting. Doors open 30 minutes prior with no late seating, and tickets start at $45.
