The Financial Times' FT Weekend Festival arrives in New York for the first time on June 20th bringing its distinctly global, ideas-driven lens to Spring Studios. Hosted by the Financial Times and led by FT Weekend editor Janine Gibson, the one-day program translates the paper’s editorial voice into a series of live conversations spanning politics, culture, technology, and the shifting dynamics of modern life.

The lineup moves easily between disciplines. There are forward-facing discussions on artificial intelligence with voices like Madhumita Murgia, alongside more personal explorations of connection and intimacy in a digital era. In the arts, Mariët Westermann and Carol Bove consider the experience of culture as something shared, while literary conversations bring together writers including Harlan Coben and Jamaica Kincaid. An onstage interview with John Lithgow adds a more reflective note.
Elsewhere, the program folds in quieter pleasures—a New York wine tasting led by Jancis Robinson and conversations around dining with chef Mashama Bailey—rounding out a schedule that feels considered rather than crowded. The result is a compact, sharply edited day that mirrors the sensibility of FT Weekend itself: informed, curious, and attentive to how people are living now.
